IPL 2012: Glittering ceremony marks Pune Warriors India's first home match

After suffering reverses in their respective previous encounters, both Mumbai Indians and Deccan Chargerswould look to get their campaign on track when they meet in an Indian Premier League (IPL) match on Monday.

Pune IPL franchisee owner Sahara India Pariwar hosted a grand opening ceremony of its Pune Warrior team ahead of their first home match against Kings XI Punjab at the new Subroto Roy Sahara Stadium in Pune.

Bollywood divas, including Preity Zinta, Jacqueline Fernandes, Dia Mirza, Neha Dhupia, Prachi Desai, Sameera Reddy, Bipasha Basu and Priyanka Chopra performed in the ceremony.

The inauguration was conducted by Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan and 'Saharasri' Subroto Roy Sahara, Managing Worker and Chairman Sahara India Pariwar.

Bachchan said, "Subroto Roy Sahara Stadium is not just a cricket stadium but a world class hi-tech stadium which is build with a unique blend of art and technology, human mind and machine, dream and reality, and passion and dedication. In this stadium the warriors of today will show their might and the warriors of future will get trained."

Thanking Bachchan, Roy said, "I am not worthy for these words and nor that such a beautiful stadium's name is kept on my name. It was my helplessness that I had to do this. Pune is my city and I love the people of Pune. I dedicate the stadium to the people of Pune and the citizen of our nation."(PTI)

A hard fought win for pune this ! They were restricted to a below par total but their bowlers fought it out hard after getting the danger man levi in the first over.Dinda was the star of the day and he picket up four wicket-two in his very first over.Murali kartik bowled brilliantly too Disappointment for mumbai , they were certainly the stronger team on paper but their batsmen let them down
